Curfloo is a console CLI/curses based chat client for the Yahoo Chat
(chat.yahoo.com) system.
It is currently VERY alpha, and not all of you will have much luck with it.
Of course, this will change over time as I find bugs, fix them, and add more stable features.
It has only been tested on linux machines, and there is no autoconf script at this time, so only the adventurous should try it on other platforms. Please let us know how your attempt fared.
Heres what one dedicated user (and author of the man page *grin*) had to say about it:

NOTE: Yahoo has changed its chat servers.
If you download curfloo and attempt to use it with its default server, it will
not work. You must add the following two lines to your ~/.curfloo/config:
chatserver:cs8.chat.snv.yahoo.com
chatport:8002
Current version is 0.76:
- adapted to latest protocol changes
- removed logging to /tmp/yh.out
Current version is 0.75:
- added profile support ( /profile [user] )
- revamped command system (supports recursive commands - see man page)
- added temporary ignore ( /mute [user] - lasts only for that session)
- added !! for command exec piped locally only
- added command timeout for ! and !! commands (no more infinite hanging!)
- few bug fixes
The man page details the bulk of the features and how to use them.

It is open-sourced, and free for all, but not GPL'd at this time.

The reason for this is that we are developing libraries based off of the code that was used to make this application.
Once such libraries are broken out and finalized, the code will mostly become GPL'd.
Until such time, you may not use any part of this code for any purpose, without explicit written permission from JFC Innovations, Inc.
The source is distributed so that those interested can learn how it is done.

Some packages have been built, but as I dont use them, I have no way of really knowing what your success might be with them. Drop me an email if you have problems.

As Curfloo has an unlimited ignore file list size, feel free to take this nice starter list. There are currently over 750 bots in this botlist, to add to your current ignore list. Over time, we'll try to keep adding to this collection, but hopefully you'll setup your own auto-ignore so you wont need it.
Simply add the contents of that file to your ~/.curfloo/ignore file and enjoy the spoils of a quiet (near) bot-free world!
